Key Features
The range of games available includes Giant Jenga, Connect 4, noughts and crosses, oversized skittles, quoits, and more, and equipment can be arranged in a games village format for larger group events. No instruction is needed — participants can begin playing immediately, which makes this one of the most accessible activities in our entire programme. Competitive scoring formats can be introduced for groups who want structured competition, and the activity works brilliantly as a transition activity between sessions, as evening entertainment during a residential stay, or as a social programme element at larger group days and events.
Badge and Programme Links
Giant Games are the social glue of any residential programme — the activity that breaks down barriers, gets everyone laughing and creates the shared moments groups talk about for years. For Girlguiding members, the equipment-based, rules-driven game format qualifies for the Sport Adventure Badge. Schools access KS1–KS4 PE social and cooperative games content. The real value, though, is interpersonal: Giant Games develop communication, sportsmanship, creative strategy and the ability to engage joyfully with other people — and they do it effortlessly, without anyone realising they're working on anything. For groups on their first residential, there's no better icebreaker.
