Key Features
Multiple kart sizes are available to match equipment appropriately to participant age and size, and helmets are provided and required for all participants before any racing begins. The circuit layout on the Beaudesert estate supports multiple competitive formats including individual time trials, team relays, and head-to-head elimination rounds. The activity develops coordination, steering technique, spatial awareness, and physical stamina, and most participants are racing confidently within minutes of their first lap, making the session immediately enjoyable and engaging throughout its entire duration.
Badge and Programme Links
Pedal Karts bring speed, competition and outdoor physical fun to participants of all ages — no engine required. The physical exertion and competitive format qualifies Girlguiding members for the Sport Adventure Badge. Schools access KS1–KS4 PE content on outdoor physical activity, coordination and competitive sport. Pedal Karts are also a brilliant vehicle (literally) for personal development: reading a course, managing speed, making tactical decisions under time pressure and competing with grace — whether winning or losing — are exactly the kinds of character-building moments that a great outdoor education programme should deliver.
Activity Information
Beaudesert operates the activity under a comprehensive risk assessment and site operating procedure. Helmets are required and provided for all participants, and karts are maintained and inspected regularly by our team.
