Key Features
Qualified staff are stationed at both the launch and landing platforms throughout the activity, carrying out comprehensive harness checks before every descent. The group rotation format naturally encourages support and encouragement, with participants cheering each other on from the ground before taking their own turn. This creates a genuine sense of shared achievement and excitement. Suitable for a wide range of ages, it is one of our most inclusive adventure activities, while Beaudesert's stunning surroundings provide a memorable backdrop that makes every flight feel even more special.
Badge and Programme Links
The Zip Wire is often the highlight of the programme, delivering a memorable burst of excitement while supporting a range of recognised development outcomes. It is specifically referenced by Girlguiding as an example activity for participants working towards the Height Adventure Badge, and its focus on challenge, confidence and personal achievement aligns closely with the aims of Scouting adventure activities and Duke of Edinburgh residential experiences. For schools, it contributes to Outdoor and Adventurous Activity learning objectives across KS2 to KS4, helping pupils build resilience, self-confidence and a willingness to step beyond their comfort zone. Most importantly, it provides a powerful personal achievement moment. Watching a young person gather the courage to step from the platform, then arrive at the bottom beaming with pride, is a perfect example of how adventure can help turn apprehension into confidence.
Activity Information
Beaudesert's Zip Wire operates under a comprehensive Site Operating Procedure and detailed risk assessment, ensuring high standards of safety at every stage of the activity. Trained staff oversee both the launch and landing areas, carrying out all necessary safety checks and managing each flight in accordance with established operating procedures. All equipment is routinely inspected and maintained, including regular specialist engineering assessments, to ensure it remains in excellent condition.
For safety reasons, participants must not exceed the Zip Wire's maximum weight limit of 16 stone (102 kg).
Why should you book with us?
The Zip Wire generates more excitement, laughter and cheers than almost any other activity on site. As participants soar through the air, their reactions can often be heard across the estate, creating a real sense of anticipation and shared excitement for everyone waiting their turn. Few activities bring a group together quite so effectively, with every launch becoming a moment that is celebrated by friends, leaders and spectators alike. The challenge of stepping from the platform takes genuine courage, making the achievement at the end of the ride feel all the more rewarding.
All sessions are led by experienced, qualified instructors who understand how to work with groups of all ages and abilities.
