Zip Wire
Don't just see the view. Fly through it.
About Zip Wire
Before you take to the skies, we’ll guide you through a safety briefing. You’ll learn how the equipment works, the proper flying position, and how to safely land at the end of the line.
Session Details
Key Features
Qualified staff are positioned at both the launch and landing platforms throughout, with full harness safety checks completed before every single run. The group rotation format creates a natural atmosphere of peer encouragement — participants cheer each other from the ground and then take their own turn, generating genuine collective excitement. The activity is accessible to a very wide age range, making it one of the most inclusive thrill activities we offer, and Beaudesert's landscape provides a spectacular backdrop for the flight that adds to the sense of occasion.
Badge and Programme Links
The Zip Wire is everyone's favourite five seconds — and it earns its programme credentials too. The Girlguiding Height Adventure Badge page explicitly names zip wire as an example activity for Guides earning the badge — a direct, confirmed reference from girlguiding.org.uk. For Scouts, it sits within the high ropes activity family and supports the Climber Activity Badge alternative pathway. A residential stay including the Zip Wire can contribute to the DofE Gold Residential section. Schools meet the KS2–KS4 OAA and physical challenge outcomes. And for the young person who spends thirty minutes working up the courage to launch off the platform — and then can't stop grinning at the bottom — there is no better lesson in facing fear than the view from the top.
Activity Information
Beaudesert operates the Zip Wire under a comprehensive Site Operating Procedure with full risk assessment. Staff are trained in launch and landing operations, and all equipment is subject to regular specialist engineering inspection.
Why should you book with us?
The Zip Wire produces the most noise of any activity we run — the combination of screams and laughter as participants fly through the air is audible across the estate. It creates shared moments of group excitement that nothing else quite matches, and the courage required to step off that platform means the achievement is always real.
All sessions are led by experienced, qualified instructors who understand how to work with groups of all ages and abilities.
