Our long term plans remain the same although, this development has been hampered significantly by COVID 19.  We are currently in urgent need of financial donations and support to help keep us on track.

Development and fund-raising plans

Long-term objective: within 10 years, by 2028, complete all outstanding maintenance and refurbishment, invest in new buildings and activities to remain competitive & attractive to our visitors, discharge our duty to maintain the Old Hall, and also ensure that ongoing income can sustain the maintenance and competitiveness of the site.

A climbing tower is our first funding aim. This will be a purpose-built climbing tower in the Walled Garden which can accommodate more young people and include facilities for disabled children. This will replace our old climbing wall at the back of the Cal day centre which our volunteers built many years ago, and the long walk to abseiling in the quarry. This will cost £100,000 and fund-raising has already started. If you’d like to help build the tower, please donate using the make a payment button on our home page.

We are also looking to build a podded village housing up to 60 beds. This will be a modern alternative to our tented village.  This will be housed in the walled garden.
