We are looking for a volunteer events manager to lead a number of exciting events for Scouts and Guides in the next few years including Winter Camp 2026, Wilderness 2025, Scout and Guide take over 2025. We are also looking at running a number of other events for Scouts and Guides including various events for different sections.
Ideally you will have some experience of managing district or county events or Jamborees or even some commercial event experience. You’ll work with the centre management team to plan the event, help to advertise it, recruit volunteers for the event and deliver the event.

We are looking for a volunteer to recruit and lead a team of people to run a weekend event for JOTA. You’ll need the appropriate radio licence and be a member of the Scout association and have had previous experience of JOTA and be available for the weekend Friday 18th October to Sunday 20th October 2024. To plan and run an exciting winter camp with lots of activities.
To plan and run our Bushcraft and Survival weekend. You will need to recruit a number of industry expert instructors to run workshops in all kinds of bushcraft and survival skills. You will need to source some main stage speakers, in the past these have included, Ed Stafford, Laura Bingham, Sally Kettle, Lofty Wiseman and Dr Sarita Robinson. Plan some engaging entertainment for Saturday evening including campfire and plan a big finale on Sunday
To run car parking, traffic management, refuse and recycling.

We are looking for a number of people who are enthusiastic about the history of Beaudesert Hall and the grounds. You will join our team of volunteer history guides to give tours and talks to young people and adults.
To help support the delivery of activities. You will help set up self led equipment, help with harnessing, help set ropes up under the supervision of qualified instructors. There will be opportunities for courses to enable you to fully instruct activities.
We have a whole new team that we are looking for: Our Media team will look after our website and social media and press releases.
To Lead our media team to deliver high quality marketing across our website, social media and press interviews.
To add content to our website and ensure the site is up to date at all times. We are also looking to take on an ambitious project to create a new exciting website that allows customers to book and follow their booking on line.
To run our social media posts, across Facebook, X and Instagram. We are also looking to do more with YouTube and to explore TikTok and other platforms.

We are looking for a team of people to come in on planned media days and big events to take photos, make videos and to interview our customers. This will support our website and social media teams.

We are looking for a couple of people from each county, Scouts and Guides to become ambassadors, taking information to district and county AGMs and other advertising opportunities. You will send photos and dates of events to our media team for social media coverage. You’ll be a regular visitor to the site, know what is happening and be a proud supporter of what we do. You’ll receive regular updates to help you deliver the most up to date information. There will also be the occasional voucher for you to use with your groups for something at the site to allow you to try things out. We are looking for people from any county, not just from Staffordshire and West Mercia.

To help in the kitchen under the supervision of our catering manager, preparing, cooking and serving meals to our visitors, mainly for large events.
Working under the supervision of our catering manager you will help keep the dining areas clean and tidy and help serve meals to our guests.

This team helps to keep the site looking great.
To come and stay for the weekend in the cottage and meet and greet arrivals, be on duty for any problems overnight, serve in the shop and generally help our visitors have a good stay. Accommodation provided.
Come in once a month, wearing a Beaudesert florescent jacket you will walk the key areas with a litter picker and bag and collect litter for an hour or 2. Fresh air, exercise and a great help to us!

Can you do, painting and decorating, basic plumbing, replace electrical fittings like for like, carpentry, deep cleaning. Our aim is to create a team of people who can come in most Thursday mornings, and pick up the fix it forms, investigate, repair if possible or order parts for next week.

0420 Volunteer Application Form
We are looking for 6 month to 1 year work placement students. We offer free accommodation in our new staff lodge and meals to our long term work placements. We have vacancies in the Activity team and catering team Lots of training provided.
We have a number of places available for a full time or regular placements supporting our centre to deliver amazing experiences to young people. Minimum placement 1 month This can be full time or weekends.
You get: Full training, uniform, food, accommodation and an amazing experience seeing young people develop. You’ll also make lifelong friends and develop some amazing skills that will look great on your CV or university/job application.
Daily tasks will include: setting up activities, running activities, activity maintenance, general site maintenance, cleaning buildings and cleaning of toilets.
You just need to bring lots of energy, a positive can do attitude and willingness to be outside in the great British weather and we’ll provide the rest
Applicants must be at least 16 years old and able to commit to at least a 1 month placement or regular weekends.

As a charitable trust we rely on the hard work of a large volunteer team who provide support for our paid staff and help us to complete projects that we would not normally be able to complete. Volunteers assist with a wide range of tasks on site and are instrumental to the success of our centre. In return we offer training, a DBS, and uniform to regular volunteers.
